Presidio of Monterey | Outdoor Recreation


The Outdoor Recreation, Equipment and Travel Center (ODR) offers extensive winter and summer recreational activities and equipment. They offer classes and training opportunities in SCUBA, kayak, surfing, and more. There is a vast selection of outdoor rental and retail equipment for any outdoor activity to include camping & hiking gear, water sports, winter sports, a variety of boats, fishing gear, camper trailers, bounce house, grills, van and mini-van rentals, and even Lake Tahoe cabins and hotel lodgings around the state. Adventure trips and tours are also provided by Outdoor Recreation (ODR). We provide trips for camping, hiking, surfing, kayaking, SCUBA, and winter sports. During the peak skiing season, ODR transports large groups to the ski resorts for weekend and day trips to some of the best skiing in the country. Book a trip with ODR and they will provide lift tickets, equipment, lodging, and transportation; all at an affordable rates.
	Outdoor Recreation also provides the unique opportunity for guests to book trips and arrange for transportation using its large fleet of buses and vans with professional drivers. ODR's transportation charter services include several modern buses that seat from 7 to 57 passengers and its extensive fleet of 15 passenger vans. All can be chartered for groups of any size for short or extended ex-cursions throughout the western states. If you are looking to store a vehicle or trailer for
short periods or long-term, ODR manages a large vehicle storage lot at the Ord Military Community complex. These lots have security gates with electronic keypads, camera surveillance, and plenty of room for your biggest of RVs or trailers. Outdoor Recreation's Ticket and Tours program should be the first stop when discovering all the great opportunities and sites to see while in Monterey and California. They even offer tours to Nevada's resort cities such as Las Vegas, Reno and Lake Tahoe. ODR's ITT program books tickets to professional sporting events such as the San Francisco 49ers & Giants, Oakland Raiders and Athletics, San Jose Sharks, and college football games at great venues such as Stanford and Cal Berkley. Tickets to favorite local attractions include The Monterey Aquarium, San Francisco and Alcatraz tours, Hearst Castle, wine tasting, shopping, and Broadway shows. They also offer discounted tickets to Disneyland, Magic Mountain, Great America, and Knott's Berry Farm and other popular California destinations.

PATRON ELIGIBILITY

The US Army MWR Outdoor Recreation program and services are available to military service members, Department of Defense (DoD) employees, Military and civilian DoD retirees, CSUMB and MIIS staff and students.

All eligible patrons' spouses and dependents are also considered eligible. Patrons may be required to present valid photo identification before services are rendered.

To enter the Presidio, patrons without military stickers may access the base through any gate and must have current vehicle registration, insurance and driver's license.
