Summer Guides 
Applications are now being accepted for summer tour guides. As a trade off for volunteer work, you will receive free admission and lodging for all tours that you guide. Tours include: Los Angeles, Lake Tahoe, baseball games, mountaineering, rafting, biking, beach parties, amusement parks, and other outdoor adventure activities. Job descriptions and applications are available at our front desk. You must be available 1 or 2 weekends per month, enjoy people, and be 18 years of age or older. Training will be provided by Outdoor Recreation.


Winter Guides 
Applications are now being accepted for ski season tour guides. Our ski season is one of the largest programs we run and one the greatest opportunities for volunteers!  As a trade off for 3-5 hours of volunteer work per week, you will receive free ski lift tickets, transportation and lodging for all tours that you guide. Ski Resorts include:  Heavenly, Sierra-at-Tahoe, Northstar-at-Tahoe, Kirkwood and others.  Job descriptions and applications are available at our front desk . You must be available 1 or 2 weekends per month, enjoy people, and be 18 years of age or older. Extensive training will be provided by Outdoor Recreation.  Please contact ODR for more information.  


Internships 
Outdoor Recreation offers many opportunities for Internships for Recreation Majors (college aged students). The main focus of our program is to teach students Outdoor Recreation skills, i.e. Safety, backpacking, surfing, boogie boarding, boat operations, water skiing, white water rafting, etc.. Students are also taught: budget allocation,resource management, time management, and risk management. The programs are designed to last three months during the summer (June - August). These internships can be for credit, (see your advisor and see if you qualify). Presidio of Monterey Outdoor Recreation Center is perhaps, one of the most recognized U.S. Army Outdoor Recreation Centers in the country!
